Goal

Improve the user experience of a website through a heuristic evaluation audit

Outcome

Usability report

Background

The client needed an audit of their Flamenco guitar course website and suggestions to improve the user experience, as many users were confused when navigating the website

Methodology

📋 Heuristic evaluation (modified)

🤖 Wireframing

My approach

I first defined the problem space and goal of the audit:

📊 Demographics: older English-speaking men

👱 Persona: Greg is a 57-years-old American man who would like to learn how to play flamenco guitar. He knows how to use a computer and surfs the internet several times per week, but he is not an expert.

😡 Problem: the website is confusing and can become frustrating

🎯 Goal: people of all demographics can engage without confusion with the website on their first exploration.

I used the heuristic evaluation method with Nielsen’s heuristics to analyse the website.

The outcome

I redacted a report for the client to see the issues and my improvement suggestions. I prepared quick wireframes to display the re-design suggestion. I provided examples for best practices from other websites to give a clearer idea to the client.
